Built as a side project to complement my freestylebmx.com.au website, MTB bargains was one of three free classifieds sites targeted specifically to Mountain bike, Freestyle BMX and BMX racing riders looking to buy, sell or swap gear with other riders.

Users did not have a to be a member to post an ad, they're simply asked to verify their listing via email before it is posted on the site.

The system was designed to be as automated as possible, a cron job ran daily to remove expired or pending member accounts/listings and send out reminders to users if their listing is about to expire.

The site also had a complete advertising system built in allowing commercial advertisers to purchase banner ads.
